Angel Melendez was a musician and founding member of the New York City punk band, The Lower East Side. He was known for his distinctive style on the bass guitar and his energetic stage presence. Melendez became a prominent figure in the New York punk scene during the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Tragically, Angel Melendez's life was cut short when he was murdered in 1996. His story was later depicted in the 2003 film "Party Monster" starring Macaulay Culkin and Seth Green. Melendez's legacy lives on through his contributions to the punk rock music scene and his impact on those who knew him.
